Why count TLDs?

The number of extensions a name is registered in is one of the quickest demand signals in domaining. If dozens of people bought the same word in .net, .io, .co and .ai, the .com is valuable and the name is easy to sell. If almost nobody holds it, it is either a hidden gem or a hard sell.

Use the .com free only filter to find names where other extensions are taken but the .com is still open, then copy the free domains straight to your registrar.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the TLD count tell me?

It shows how many domain extensions a name is already registered in. A name taken in 40 of 50 extensions is in high demand — the .com is usually expensive or gone. A name taken in only 2 or 3 is still open almost everywhere.

How does the check work?

We ask each extension's own registry nameservers whether the name exists in its zone, so there is no WHOIS quota and results are close to real time. Extensions that answer "yes" for every name (wildcards) are skipped and listed.

How many names can I check?

Up to 50 names per run against up to 100 extensions, and 1,000 names per day per visitor. Paste keywords or full domains — we use the part before the first dot.

Is a "free" result guaranteed to be available?

No. "Free" means the name is not in the registry zone right now. Reserved, premium-blocked or just-expired names can still show as free, so always confirm at a registrar before you buy.
